Unrealistic expectations

Workplace Question or Advice Needed

Been with Target 2 1/2 years. Just changed to a new area of the store working with an unfamiliar TM.

I am no slouch (been told that I work efficiently by an ETL) working quickly, paying attention to guests, straightening as I go along. Just today I must have removed 4 partially full drinks from shelving.

Which brings me to the today. A TM showed me an app on the Zebra that showed how much time is allotted to work certain u-boats. Just shocked at the numbers 16 minutes, 34 minutes etc. needless to say it took me longer than that. She seemed disappointed in how long it took me.

She said she would work along side me my next shift. I am all about improvement but I am not a machine nor do

Have been F&B specialist since a bit before mid Jan of this year averaging 28+ hours a week.

Thought I had been paid but went way back and found that I had time and a half for something else last year when I was OD.

And yes I will call HR on Monday but if anyone knows now I would appreciate it.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed

Was moved to a different department in Jan. At the time I thought the SD was doing me a favor by getting me away from a bad TM and TL. Too much to explain, but it was ugly and painful and I called off 2 days in a row before I came in to talk to the SD about it.

Now about the new dept. it’s definitely a case of too many chiefs and not enough workers. The TL jumps to conclusions, it’s a matter of accusations never a conversation, expects more from me than I think is reasonable as I am the least experienced and least paid in her dept. I often end up staying over to tie up loose ends, help unload FDC etc. This week I stayed late a couple of times, which is now causing a personal problem fo

Does anyone actually like running a register?

It is not something I like or am comfortable with. I am scheduled an entire shift next week on registers and the following week the one and only shift I was given is at the register. I am currently an on demand worker that started during the Christmas season in general merchandising.

I was planning on going back to full time during the holidays but if I am going to be forced to work the registers I am not sure I will stay on at all. Don’t hate me but the truth is I am working because I want to, not because I have to, I could walk away tomorrow.

I like and am comfortable in general merchandise, running a register freaks me out.

Feeling harassed

Workplace Question or Advice Needed

I have a coworker who has made it clear she does not agree with Target’s LBGTQ policies. On several occasions she has voiced her opinion in my presence. The first time was when I pointed out that there were 3 distinct ornaments not just Mr. and Mrs. (because that area was always a mess and made no sense until I actually paid attention. She went into a tirade about how sickening all that was, I simply replied “I don’t know about that, just wanted to let you know.”

Another time she told me she puts all that type of merchandise directly into the back stock. She said she has to work, but doesn’t and can’t support “devil stuff.” She told me not to tell. I hate being put in that position.

Just saw the following quote on a TBM friend's FB post

"We need women who can detect deception in all its forms". RMN

Had to chuckle because the quote itself is a deception. It is only the "deception" of the world, apostates and other "evils" (imaginary or otherwise) that Russ wants them to detect. Russ does not want the women of the church to detect the deception the church leaders perpetuate - at all.

The longer I have been away from the influence of TSCC the more clearly I see the tactics that it employs to keep the members from looking into anything that would cause them to question the prophet's ultimate authority. It often comes across as Jedi mind tricks, if the Jedi is evil of

Two days ago it was discovered that one of the kittens I was fostering had a severe heart murmur. He was breathing really hard and had lost interest in food. Vet said he was too young for surgery or medications so the decision was made to euthanize him. Very sad day for all of us.

Then less than 24 hours later I felt something on the flank of my other foster. At first I thought it was simply a knot in her fur but then I felt more and more bumps/lumps and it is clear that it was not what I originally thought. She is scheduled to be spayed this week and I will get them to evaluate her for this issue.

We had anticipated adopting both kittens, now we are not only heart broken over losing one

As far as anyone knows, including the spouse, the bishop was simply released. He was not disfellowshipped or excommunicated, there was a short time he may not have had a temple recommend as he did not go to a family member's sealing.

He was not given time to speak the week he was released and besides being told by the SP that he would never get approval to marry the other woman (in the temple) nothing much seems to have happened to him.

Although the family (specifically the bishop's wife) was asked if they would consider moving to another stake. They did not move as it would be extremely disruptive to their children.TSCC provided no counseling even though the wife specifically asked for

A real never mo friend just posted on FB a clip from the church about visiting the DC Temple Open House. I panicked just thinking she might get sucked into TSCC. In response to another friend she said that she was going, I sent her the following PM.

"Just saw your FB post about visiting the Mormon temple in DC. If you have any questions about that church and particularly why we are no longer members I would be more than happy to talk to you about our experience. I would be a bad friend if I did not warn you about getting involved. If you are simply visiting be aware that all the nice shiny loveliness of the temple is not a refection of reality."

BTW she does not know my religious history

Despite the title, member missionary work was not something I cared to do, but on occasion, I couldn't help but think so and so would make a great member. Now I wish I had the words to help family and friends find their way out and free themselves from TSCC.

Recently spent a couple of days with just such a member and couldn't help but see the conflict it is causing in his life and relationships. How can you convince someone that they don't need to feel guilty for leaving?

Back in my TBM days being asked about temple garments would have sparked some sort of defensive mechanism in me. I would have been guarded in what I said and probably shared the party line about sacred, worthy, blah, blah. But now I just told her matter of factly what they were all about.

It is great to no longer feel obligated to keep TSCC's stupid secrets.

If I am interpreting it correctly the SP announced via a FB post that the 20 units in the stake (Dayton Ohio East Stake, Dayton, Ohio) have donated $10,000 to one of the local hospital systems for use in the fight against Covid-19.

I want to applaud them for doing that. Have to wonder if it was sanctioned by those in SLC. Anyone else heard of anything like this from a stake?
