Every 3D camera seems to consist of 2 identical lenses with ~65mm gap account for average IPD.
On the iPhone 15 Pro, the two lenses are different and are not 65mm apart. What is Apple doing to to record left eye/right eye?
first time here
years ago, I saw a clip of a guy running into do a front handspring, except he stopped and froze upside down on his hands
it was such a mind fuck for me, does anyone know what clip I'm talking about? would love to see it again.

Ee Lee was a 36 y/o Asian Woman who was raped and beaten to death in broad daylight by eleven people in Sept 2020. I don't understand why a crime of this magnitude isn't more widely known, even amongst Asians.
I'm not downplaying other crimes: elders getting burned, pushed, and killed, but those cases are starting to become well known and getting national media coverage.
For comparison, if you search her name "Ee Lee", you'll notice that all the news coverage is local and that 5 months after this crime, only 2 people have been arrested. WTF

Prop 13 is a law in California from 1970's that charges annual property taxes on the purchase price, not the market price (this is a simplification, but generally correct). This benefits people who have owned their property for a long time, in places where prices have risen.
Although this law is not written in a racial way, the effect is that whites tend to underpay property taxes and asians tend to overpay the most. This is because whites tend to have owned their house for a long time in nice neighborhoods where the gap between purchase and market price is the biggest.
If someone did an analysis that compared the property taxes of whites and asians in the same community, I bet the differ
Now is the time to step up. let me explain.
Primary elections are coming up (Feb). If you don't know what they are or how they work, it's the election that determines who will represent the democrats in the presidential race. They happen state-by-state, and if you don't have a strong showing in the early states, you get labeled as a non-viable candidate and are expected to drop out. The process is stupid, but it's how it works.
So even though Andrew's campaign has die hard grassroots support and the most momentum (by far, growing the fastest), he needs to do well in the early white states. Many people have quit their jobs and traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire (the early states) to knock o
In the past, when I've identified a friend or acquaintance as self-hating, I often didn't know what to do (like should I talk to them or ignore them or what). I came up with the following set of rules based on social status, and want to share with you all for feedback. Here's how it works:
- If my status is higher than theirs, I can engage them - whether that's educating/uplifting them or arguing with them. Usually, if I am truly higher status, I elect to help.
- Helping others takes a lot of effort/resources, but it's a huge benefit to the cause. It creates more high-status, non-self-hating Asians to further wake up other self-hating Asians. It's a virtuous cycle.
I know that racism against Asians is real, but there are two self-limiting behaviors that I've seen over and over (I'm guilty too).
- Asians are much more likely to turn down promotions. Climbing the corporate ladder sucks, I get it. But IMHO, most of the time, it's either because 1) they've been conditioned to think they aren't good enough for the role (imposter syndrome) or 2) they are uncomfortable being in a position of power, even though they were objectively the best candidate. But now look what happens, the team and company suffers because they didn't step up. So now instead of having a good conscientious boss, everyone's gotta take orders from some unqualified, power hungry dou
I use skybox to watch local files, but have noticed my Quest stutters or lags with some files. I haven't done enough testing to figure it out, but I think it might be related to performance for certain codecs (h265, h264, vp9) .
Has anyone tried or tested watching the same local videos with different codecs?
I'm glad Asian bros are working to break our weak/nerd stereotype, but I noticed a lot Asian bros tend to just lift. While lifting definitely improves your physique, discipline, and self-esteem, IMHO, nothing increases your social standing among other men like being good at social/team sports.
If you are good at sports, you naturally become the alpha of the group.
Plus, you learn other valuable skills like teamwork, leadership, communication, talking trash, etc...
