IH vs NT2?

Diagnosis/Testing

I did a sleep study 3 years ago where I slept comfortably for 7 hours got normal amount for light, deep and REM. I did 3 naps and I felt asleep between 1 and 3 minutes. I was told that none of them I went into REM so narcolepsy was ruled out and because of the severe daytime sleepiness and extreme speed to fall asleep, it must be IH. Now the sleepiness is getting very difficult to live with even through Modafinil/Sunosi (only meds approved in Canada for IH) and I saw a new doctor who looked at the study and told me that although the sleep stage quantities looked right, the cycles were actually super chaotic and not following a usual pattern at all, so now he thinks I probably have narcolepsy

I was on Modafinil for 3 years and it suddenly stopped working. I’ve been on Sunosi for a week and I have to admit that my days are really nice. There’s some wonderful moments that I’m completely awake and I haven’t felt that way for a long time.

However, Sunosi has to be taken once (at wake time) and only last 9h so the effect is long gone come the evening. The latest I can take it before feeling too sleepy is around 9am so it last to max 18h.

Every single day, I’m now constantly fighting somnolence from 18h to bed time.

On Modafinil, I could use a second dose at 2-3pm and be fine until 9pm and wind down for bed time.

Those of you on Sunosi, I’m curious what’s your experience. I’ve sea

I purchased an Adventure.2 a month ago and I've put ~200km on a mix of road and light trails. There's a lot of snow here and it's also very cold at this time, but with the right gear this bike gets me outside for hours even when it's -10F.

I'm lucky to get many great fat bike trails in my area but I find them very difficult to use this bike because of how heavy it is. It's a very different experience and, so far, it wasn't really fun.

Nonetheless, riding roads and light trails in the snow is really amazing. I love this bike.

What's kind of ride are you doing? Do you have more luck than me in regular fat bike trails?

I have Sony X90L tv connected via HDMI eARC to the AVR and a PS5 connected to the TV with HDMI. The TV and PS5 sound output are set to PCM/Passthrough but I'm missing surround audio channels because I don't have surround speakers (only a 3.1 left/right/center/subwoofer). I've read (everywhere) that the Denon AVR should down mix the audio into the current channels. But even though the surrounds speakers are disabled in the AVR I only can hear the sound correctly if I select the stereo sound mode (on the AVR). I've tried many settings like using DTS, Atmos, and other sound modes on the PS5, the TV and the AVR without success.

Maybe it's because I'm connecting the PS5 to the TV and not the AVR

I'm not sure if the problem is with me not understanding how the display works or if it's just lacking the most basic features. I can't see the distance and time of the ride I'm doing right now, I only see the total time since I got the bike which is not very useful. I've followed the manual to access the Trip A / Trip B screens but how do we select a trip to use for a ride, for example, if I want to register my current trip as Trip A. I understand from the manual as well that we have to go the settings to reset trip data, which is not super convenient.

I arrived Sunday for a vacation in Saint John. Yesterday, we went to see the reversing falls and we spotted a solitary seal swimming in the falls just under the bridge. A few hours ago, we were at Mispec beach and we spotted a pair of dolphins on the bay. Is this common? According to what I can find online both animals are quite rare to see or is it a tourist catch to pay for a cruise?

I have an python web app in Docker (swarm) and I want to store/browse the logs with something like Grafana and create metrics/alerts. The application logs are printed to stdout but I can write them to file or use a (python) library.

The stacks that I found have a lot of moving parts and complexity. Example, I need to make my code outputs it's log in a specific way to gunicorn that format's them in a specific way to docker and configure a log shipper correctly to scrape the logs and ship it to a logging system in order to be viewed in a dashboard.

This setup needs configuration and maintenance of multiple services. Does a modern tool exist that makes this simpler for smaller apps? Ex: a log

The community often suggests to run Django behind nginx or another reverse proxy. The gunicorn docs also suggest this however it does not explain why. Someone can confirm but I believe it's simply because gunicorn is slower to serve assets?

I generally run Django (gunicorn) behind a load balancer offered by the PaaS with cloudflare on top. However, I'm wondering if this setup is optimal because the assets are still served by gunicorn (although they are cached by cf) ?

I just realized that I don't have to setup a mail server and fake email accounts for local development when developing emails in my Django applications, I can just run a docker image of a mail server built for this purpose:

docker run -p 1080:1080 -p 1025:1025 maildev/maildev

In Django settings, you can use the regular SMTP email backend, set the host to localhost and the port to 1025, that's it.

Maildev will catch all the emails sent by the app and show them in a web UI, just like any real email client.

This is a follow-up to my previous question where a ask what people are using for performance monitoring in Django.

I'm wondering if I should implement Prometheus with my own middleware (django-prometheus seems dead) or try Open Telemetry with their official Django integration.

I've heard good and bad things about Open Telemetry (in general). I'm wondering if anyone here used it?

I'm using kubernetes on Google Cloud and it has multiple dashboards and alerts on nodes and pods health but it doesn't have app metrics like response time and request per minutes.

I have searched around and nothing comes up as a really great fit for Django. For example, Prometheus requires that I write my own middleware or use the unmaintained django-prometheus.

Sometimes, I need to do some one off maintenance tasks (running asynchronously with Celery) for cleaning up models or doing a backfills, for examples. Sometimes, I queue them using a migration, sometimes I login directly to production worker container, start a Django shell and I dangerously queue them manually. But I wonder, how are other people doing it?
