A feral kitten showed up in our back yard last week. It's living in my shed and I've been feeding and giving water but it's extremely shy. I rarely see it and only when I quietly sneak outside to have a peek. If it sees me, it goes back in the shed and hides.
How can I get this kitten socialized? It looks to be about 10 weeks old, but I'm not really sure. I'm worried that if I don't make some progress soon it will be forever feral. My sister suggested trapping it, but then what? I'd have a terrified kitten in a cage, and I'm worried it will just make things worse.

I sent two packages to an incorrect address (my bad) and miracle of miracles, the person who received them took them to a UPS store for Return to Sender.
The UPS store tells me their SOP is to write "RS" on the boxes and put them in a place for the driver to pick up. No scan, no new label. The driver picks up and doesn't scan, they just take them to the hub. The hub can't tell me if they received them, just that if (if) they did they would print new labels and send back to me. But they don't have any way of tell me what the new tracking numbers would be.
Today I received one of the 2 packages, but no one at UPS can tell me what happened to the other one.
