Hey there, I am flying to Poland for about 30 days and am hoping to set myself up with an unlimited data eSIM.

I was hoping to walk into a kiosk at the airport, right after landing, pay for one using my Canadian credit card, and have it activated right there. That's what I did on my trips to Portugal and Taiwan.

However, I have read some reports that you are unable to buy eSIMs at the airport.

I have also read that you might be required to purchase an eSIM with a Polish credit card or payment method only? And I might need a Polish ID?

Based on my research I want to get an eSIM on the Orange network.

What would you recommend for a tourist like me? I want a good deal and to use loc

In English, umami is one of the five flavours: sweet, salty, bitter, sour, umami

I have asked google translate & other services and they come back with "umami", but is that really what this is called in Polish? I asked my Polish mom, who was born in Poland and spent her formative years there, and she has no idea what "umami" is.

Is there another Polish word for umami?

Any Taiwanese restaurants in town?

🥄food /restaurants /gastronomy

I've tried to google this in various ways, but it always tends to bring up Chinese restaurants in general, rather than restaurants that specialize in Taiwanese cuisine specifically or at least have Taiwanese food on offer.

I just returned from a month-long stay in Taiwan and miss the food. Do we have anything like this here in London? Any restaurants someone in the know could recommend? I'm looking for a place that is serving Taiwanese dishes that are authentic to some degree, whether that means the classics, street food type stuff, fusion dishes, etc.

(I know that there are a couple in Toronto - It's on my radar and in my plans - if you have any specific recommendations for that city

  1. Is November a good time to go? Ideally I'd get there early November and depart late November, but I am also open to arriving mid-November and departing early/mid December. Is this a solid plan? Anything I need to know about Taiwan in Nov/Dec that didn't come up in my rudimentary google searches? It seems the weather will be good, but am I forgetting anything? Rainy and Typhoon season will be over by then, but what else should I be thinking about?

  2. Is three weeks a good amount of time to see the country? I could in theory do 4 weeks. How would you break up your itinerary if you were me? A week in Taipei, then move on to another city? Tainan is also on my radar, as well as Kaohs

I was trying to explain this word to my English speaking friends, but my Polish is a bit rusty and behind the times these days.

When I was younger I remember the word "artysta" being used as a sort of insult, when somebody did something stupid. It was also used to refer to an actual artist (painter, sculptor, etc.) but I remember people being called an "artysta" when they did something stupid or messed something up.

Is this meaning of the word still in use today? I tried a lot of different online Polish dictionaries, but only one so far seemed to have the non-traditional definition. This is the only one I could find:

Artysta - A person who acts in a difficult way

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I swear I have only seen English sports fans & players do this. It's very possible it happens elsewhere and I just haven't noticed.

There are two forms of this celebration. They both involve alternating arm movements, up and down. The first form involves you holding your hands stretched out in front of you, palms facing down:

The second form involves you holding your fists out in front of you or a bit to the side. Then you alternate raising your left fist, then your right fist as you lower the left one, and repeat, as though you were pulling on two pulleys, one after the other.

I swear I have not seen a celebration like th

My U23 squad listing is full of first team players who have been made available for U23 action. They stay there even if I remove them from the roster (By clicking on the dropdown and "Remove from position")

I can't seem to figure out an obvious way to just see all the players I have on my U23 squad and nobody else

Is there a button or setting I am missing?
