My Syno has been super stable for couple years, and I've had it safely hooked up to a UPS, but a couple weeks ago it unexpectedly crashed and rebooted itself, beeping angrily upon reboot. It threw itself into read-only mode and told me to data scrub. I did a data scrub and converted back to read/write just fine, and made sure to get DSM up to date, hoping it was a OS issue. I have followed these tutorials to setup a custom domain with subdomains and reverse proxy. Dynamic DNS with Google domains points to external IP, ports 443 and 80 open for reverse proxy to work, reverse proxy setup on DSM is set, certificate setup. I recently moved from a 1817 with built in 10gbe to this new 1821+ in which I installed a Mellanox ConnectX-3 (which in reviews someone specifically said worked with their 1821+) SFP+ Transceiver. The drives are the exact same (8x 8-14TB WD white label), they were moved over to this new machine and nothing has changed. I am connected with same cat6 line to Sonnet Thunderbolt 3 adapter to my Macbook Pro.
