Ever since I upgraded to end-to-end encryption on messenger, I can’t load unread messages in incognito mode in Chrome. What do I need to do? I type in the passcode, but it doesn’t show the unread messages.
Do I need to approach a short story differently than I would a novel? Should I still outline? Do I write a bunch and trim out what I don’t need? What are some resources that could help me?
I’ve read about how fantasy is an escape genre. Realities like war, loneliness, domestic mistreatment, and school lectures are replaced with creature fights, oddball companions, comfort beyond imagination, and utter nonsense. Where is the line drawn for real world problems in a fantasy world?
I’ve heard the saying “Show, don’t tell”. Stories are meant to be told though... • What instances would make either one a better option? • Should you use both?
The new year is approaching... what writing goals do you have for 2021? How are you planning to achieve them?
Authors don’t write 24/7 do they? What does Stephen King do in his spare time?
Tomorrow I’m planning to send a friend my first chapter. I already know it is incomplete and not to perfection, but I am hoping my friend can provide helpful criticism. I am nervous about sending it even though I think it’s what I need to do to move forward.
Has anyone had similar experiences they can share?
I’m trying to take a more in-depth look into literature analysis to improve on my writing. Has anyone used Litcharts? Is it worth the price? Any alternative ms or suggestions,
Aspiring writers are often afraid to take that leap to publish something as small as a magazine piece much less a full novel. How has your writing improved since your first published piece? What made you take your leap? Tell us your story!
I’m interested in writing fanfics. Is this still a thing in 2020? What are popular sites to use? I’m new to fan fiction.
My story uses dwarves and elves much akin to those in Middle Earth. I also have other races including some of my own invention. As I began writing, I occasionally spot other similarities such as dragons, wizards, and a character who can turn into a bear.
Am I overthinking this? How many similarities are tolerable?
I am struggling to stick to a writing schedule, but I have a strong desire to write. I think having someone to collaborate with is the motivation I need to get me started.
About me: •Lives in Wisconsin •Enjoys Fantasy, Sci-fi, and Horror •Busy schedule, but have a few hours a day I can set aside to write
I think what would help me most is to have someone to learn and write with.
Races like elves and orcs are easy to make human like, but I feel that centaurs would do things very differently than we are used to. Typically I see centaurs as being background characters because of this, but I’d like mine to have a major role. Any suggestions?
