Hi,
I had an electrician come and install new wall sockets in our kitchen prior to installing new cabinets. He convinced me that it was fine to run the cables along the walls and pin them, rather than chase them in. Looking at them now, the cables (and their pins) protrude by about 20mm. From what I can see online IKEA cabinets don't have enough give at the back to allow for this. The electrician is adamant they're fine, but I'd love another opinion if possible.
Has anyone else had this happen? I ordered tomato plants months ago, they were due to arrive soon and I just got an email saying they weren't able to fulfil my order and so have cancelled it. Seems very poor!
I had an appointment with a healthcare provider. Several hours before the appointment I emailed them saying I would have difficulty attending and asked if it would be possible for me to reschedule or begin it slightly later (and however end it at the usual time). I explicitly didn't ask to cancel or reschedule, just asked for information - namely if it was possible. I ended my email saying "I understand if neither of these options work, just let me know what you think" as I didn't want to cancel and incur a cancellation fee.
The provider however took my email as a request to cancel and is now charging me a cancellation fee - despite the fact that the specialist was reassigned to another app
I was decorating a room downstairs, and took a radiator off to get behind it. When I put it back on I didn't open the outlet valve entirely, I've addressed that now and I bled that radiator, however the boiler won't maintain pressure anymore for more than a few hours. Do I need to bleed every radiator in the house (something I already did before realising the outlet valve on the radiator wasn't fully open), or is there something else I need to do?

There is a slight leak behind the toilet and I'm not sure where it's coming from. I think it might be because the pan connector isn't on flush. Try as I might i cant push it past the position in the photo. I was wondering what that white stuff might be, how best to remove it and do I need to put something else on to make it watertight? Do I need plumbers mait or something?
Hi there,
I'm looking to perform a routine for my daughter's birthday party. She's going to be 9. She's big into Harry Potter at the moment and I wanted to create something themed around that. I have a few things lined up - mouth coils, colour changing silks, disappearing silks, levitating coke can - but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions as well that might go down well with 9 year olds and that I could theme around Harry Potter. I was thinking of trying to do a potions class as well - maybe with something like vinegar and bicarbonate soda, but would love to get some insight from the people here. I'm very much a novice and don't have a wealth of experience - hence why I'm
Hey Dads,
I'm posting here to get some perspective and support. I've seen this community offer alternative perspectives and support, rather than a typical "lawyer up" or "break up with her" response many people have.
My partner and I have always had a tricky relationship - she would say she has a latin temperment (even if not being from anywhere near a latin country). Things got worse when our child was born, then somewhat better, but lately they've really gotten bad. We started getting counselling, but my partner doesn't seem to think I'm trying, although our counsellor has very clearly said she doesn't agree with that.
Lately I'm just at my wits end. My partner is angry all the time
Hi all,
I've a Hotpoint dishwasher that I need to install a door onto. The problem is I seem to have lost the door installation kit with the screws and the template to fit it properly. I also can't find the right one online to replace it. Can anyone give me any tips on how to install an integrated dishwasher door without a kit? Or is there a generic kit that might work?
The model is h8iht59lsuk_ss
Thank you!
I'm going with my family in July to Ile De Ré - we're staying near Sainte Marie de ré but want to explore the island and get to a surf camp for a few days if possible.
From what I can see there are plenty of shuttlebuses around the island, but it also looks like they only run once every hour. Is this accurate, or are they more frequent?
Basically, I'm trying to put forward a convincing case to my partner that we won't need a car. We will rent bikes, but my daughter might struggle the whole journey from our hotel to the beach where the surf lessons will be as it's about a half an hour cycle.
Any suggestions?
Also, it would be great to get tips in general about Ilé de Ré. Everyone says
