It seems like every small business I've worked with that had a battery backup or some sort of smart power management has had them fail in the least desirable way: that "protection" becoming the sole reason they go completely offline. Even with the more reputable devices I've deployed for them, there's eventually a point when I wonder if they wouldn't have been better off with nothing fancier than a decent surge protector.

I totally see these having a place in larger scale operations where they can be well maintained and have real utility in providing business continuity and centralized management. But I'm beginning to wonder if these are just BAD to be deploying at small sites that don't ha

Ever since Trader Joe's changed up their toothpaste I'm looking for a toothpaste I can stand again. It's an actual health issue because I really can't stand brushing with any of the pastes I've found lately.

MUST HAVE

  • NO saccharine (physical sensitivity to this)
  • YES fluoride

STRONGLY PREFER

  • decent taste, ideally simple peppermint or no added flavorings
  • baking soda or similar abrasive, helps keep the texture from just being "slime" and feels cleaner
  • no other artificial sweeteners if possible

NICE TO HAVE

  • on the cheaper side would be nice, the old Trader Joe's stuff was cheap and did everything I needed

I don't understand why this is so hard to get right, but SO many otherw

I recently picked up some more of the lovely Tong Lu Black from Harney & Sons, and it got me wondering if there's a way to know for sure when this tea was picked.

Lot number is 24200, best by date is July 18, 2026. If I knew how far out they dated their black teas (2 years?) that should be a strong clue and the lot number would seem to confirm that, but I'd really like to know for sure how to read these labels. And is the date actually based on the cultivation date or just from when H&S sourced the tea?

Bonus question: If I especially enjoy teas like H&S Tong Lu Black and Mei Leaf Souchong Liquor (aka Tong Mu Zhengshan Xiaozhonga), what else should I be looking for out there?

As I continue to devalue the "things" in my life, I've taken a certain pleasure in using fancy things for mundane purposes "below their station", and in ways I'm sure our grandparents would have found shocking. Keeping something pristine for my whole life only to ultimately throw it out seems like such a waste. I'd much rather put it to a practical use today and actively enjoy using it as such! For example:

  • Our elegant china cabinet we had growing up: It's a really nice piece of furniture, but I have no use for china or displaying fancy dishes. Instead we throw breakfast stuff we actually use in there: boxes of cereal, bowls, paper napkins, etc. What's for breakfast? Don't even have to op

Okay, does anyone have the actual lyrics/phonemes/whatever used in the music tracks? I'm just going nuts here because I can't help singing along...

Moving around is so much easier and more precise via mouse, it's just no contest. But it seems the only way to do that now is by toggling on the "mouse only" option, which only gives you two bindings. Why separate those control schemes when you could simply include a "move to" binding to use in place of the individual directional controls (WASD by default)?

Example: I prefer to level up manually, but to do so I have to stop and precisely click on the level button. Even though keyboard players get a handy Q binding, it doesn't work in this mode.

Remember that some of us have mice with a dozen buttons, not just two, so please give us more control options!

Masterwork Mace

materialdpsattack timepiercing
steel15.272.00s46%
uranium13.882.20s46%

When it hits masterwork level, steel's single instance damage jumps up dramatically to exactly match uranium, and because it hits more often the DPS is better.

This seems like an unfortunate choice of key combinations for "clear browsing data". If you're like me and do a lot of text editing via keyboard, Ctrl+Shift+Arrows is used all the time for word-by-word selection, often followed immediately by delete to remove that selection. If your timing isn't perfect that can get interpreted by Chrome as Ctrl+Shift+Del.

Literally did it just now editing this post. Arrgh!
