I have an inground sprinkler system and I have two dogs. They love to pee on the grass right next to the patio, so I have a nice ring of dead grass right next to the house. I'm patching the grass now and I don't want it destroyed again.

I was thinking of getting the Aiper IrriSense or Oto watering system and programming them to water just that strip at a set time every day (I always let them out in the morning same time). Has anyone tried this? I'd also use it to cover any dry spots that I can't get my sprinklers to cover well without moving them and also to water the lawn in the early spring when its too early to restart the sprinklers because of frost.

Is 1 month of watering enough to establish seed?

Northern US & Canada (or cool season)

I live in 6a - my yard was destroyed by a hot and dry winter so I have some massive dirt patches. I'd like to overseed this weekend (labor day) but my town is establishing a water ban on October 1st. I have a feeling it's not enough time to overseed (and right now is still a little too early also) but wanted to see if this was possible.

If I can't overseed would it still be a good time to topdress and also fill in some depressions in the yard at least?

This is my lawncare providers fertilizer schedule

Northern US & Canada (or cool season)

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been using a lawn care company for the last few years.

I'm in 6a, we're in a pretty bad drought and the temps here are regularly 90+. The parts of my lawn that are in the shade are doing decent, but the exposed parts are basically dust.

I want to ask - should I be putting down more phosphorous to get the roots deeper? Any other advice/changes to this regimen? I'm planning on seeding the bare spots this fall as well and will need to get some starter fert.

Skipped - assume it would be the same

ZhangJiaJie then ChongQing or Guilin?

🗺️ Trip Reports & Itineraries

I'm planning a trip with my dad to China. We are from Shanghai, so we will start there and stay for a couple of days, then go to ZhangJiaJie.

From there we will stay for 3 days, then wondering if we should go to Guilin, or check out ChongQing/Chendu, probably overall we'll have 2 -3 days for this leg.

Then return to Shanghai for a couple of days before heading back to the US.

I like nature but also ChongQing seems very cool (based on instagram...). I've been to Shanghai a few times so it's not too new to me, but also I haven't really scratched the surface there either so maybe that's enough "city" for me.

Trying to find a spot for date night this weekend. Love sushi but I also live near Sushi Den and in my opinion it's hard to top without spending a looot. Shabu shabu at Kobe An would also be a good option, just haven't heard much about it.

Open to suggestions (not sushi) as well if anyone has them, would prefer somewhere near other bars and restaurants so we could walk around afterwards.

My wife was just at the airport flying to New York. Around when boarding started about 15 TSA agents started double checking everyone's ID's, randomly searching bags, etc. There was also a k9 unit there. Someone also mentioned that they were doing this on all flights from Denver to New York. Anyone else experience/see this and know what's going on?

This is my current situation for a strip of grass next to my house. At the top are side strip sprinkers. Against the house side are 15' half circle sprinklers. The 15H are fine because the overspray just waters the shrubs on the opposite, but I can't really use 15H on the mulch side because the overspray would water the house. This means the grass next to the 15H sprinklers don't get much grass, plus they get the suns reflection off of the windows on the house and get roasted in the summer.

I don't want to do anything major to fix this, so I was looking for some advice on a
