The purpose of this subreddit is to critique and/or mock artistic depictions (in stand-alone images, comics, films, computer games or other sources) of armour and other military garb (fantasy, futuristic or 'historical') that make no practical sense whatsoever. The kind of equipment that would actually be such a liability on the field of battle that it would be better to turn up in jeans and a t-shirt. This may include any of the following:

Pauldrons so large or elaborate that they would prevent the arms from moving properly and block peripheral vision.
Spikes placed in such a way as to hinder movement or impale the wearer
Countless tropes relating to 'sexy' armour for women: sculpted 'boob' plates, cleavage windows, high-heeled sabatons, exposed midriff, chainmail bikinis and so on.
200 lbs of quarter inch steel plate; no helmet.
Jointed metal plate worn directly against the skin.

Rule 1: Link directly to the image. Give 'credit' to the artist if you see fit.

Rule 2: Provide an explanation (as brief or as detailed as you like) of why the armour in question is ludicrous.
