I remember a game for atari that was almost exactly like this. All in all, a solid, challenging game. It might be nice to add additional challenges as the levels get higher, like the bricks shaking and about to fall, so you have to try and break them first before they fall or you wont get credit, or other types of ideas like that.
What do you think?
I'm really enjoying this one, especially the upgrades and the music. I find the final boss to be really difficult though. Anyone got any pointers?
It's pretty good as far as tower defense games go, though kind of plain without much more detail to it than any other generic tower defense game. I feel like the bot could have added more tower types, enemies, etc to make it a tad bit more complicated. It's not bad for something made by AI in less than a week, though. Maybe there could be an ATD 2 some day that's more complicated, challenging, and interesting.
I feel like there is definitely a strategy to where you place the towers that can make a big difference in effectiveness, and where certain towers are placed relative to one another. I tried focusing on piercing towers primarily instead of the basic plasma towers, and that actually se
I think it showcases a step forward with the use of better art than the more retro and blocky art found in most of the other games, but still not that satisfying to play. I was torn on how to rate it, but ultimately rated it a 3 because 2 seemed too low for a step forward in art and complexity, but 4 seemed too high for a game that ultimately isn’t that fun or addictive to play.
Whenever I finish a game of Retro Racing, it always says I'm 8th place even though the stats in the top left says I'm in 3rd or some other position.
I played through the game and I'm left with two unmatching colors, making it impossible to win. And the game is so boring anyway. You're just clicking on colors that look the same. Where's the challenge in that?
Made it past the first boss, but the second boss got me. The fires on the ground and the “smashers” that come in from above keep you in a narrow window toward the middle that’s hard to stay in because of your jump. The art is just okay. Love the music though!
Reminds me of the old Rampart game for SNES, which was one of my favorite games growing up, but that game was more complicated with the types of cannons, having fires that would prevent you from building in certain spots, etc. as a simplified version made from AI, this isn’t too bad but pales in comparison. I’d like to see a larger map, more time to rebuild and place cannons, and an easier/faster method of rotating the wall pieces. Maybe having a longer timer to build, but with an option to skip to the end of the phase if you’ve already placed all you can so you’re not just sitting around waiting for the timer to end.
Would be fun to have some sounds in the games.
The blocky shapes should be replaced by art. But the game is pretty good.
The plain white walls everywhere makes it hard to see what's going on. And why is there a minimap at the top right of the screen. That kind of makes it too easy. And the gem and the exit only show up in the minimap. There's no representation of them in the actual 3D world.
It looks like Nyan Cat barfed all over my screen.
I can just hold down spacebar and I get infinite bullets spraying across the screen. And if an alien does get passed me, I'm not even punished at all.
I defeat the first wave of enemies. Great. Then suddenly a HUGE wave comes in from all sides that's WAY too much to possibly handle.
