seems comet went under the radar. either the amount of users is so minuscule it stays under the api limits or the app scrapes directly off reddit. whatever the case may be, let’s keep this our little secret so we don’t lose the last good reddit app. don’t even recommend it to your friends, they’ll end up telling others and we’ll lose this one too.
Hi guys, Comet's designer here,
Thanks for showing an interest in Comet! If you haven't already, make sure to follow this link to reserve your place in the Alpha: you should receive a confirmation email within 15 minutes of signing up. We'll be sending out email notifications when the first build is ready for you guys to try. Thanks to everyone who's registered their interest! Unfortunately we've run out of spaces for the first alpha test (coming in a few weeks or so), but you can still subscribe for email updates on the progress of the app.
Feel free to post or comment any questions, suggestions and requests, and u/RedBanHammer and I will do our best to
Hi everyone, a little late but on January 25th it was Comet’s 2 year anniversary being on App Store! It’s surprising how long it’s been, but I’ve got a great update out today. Hope you like it!
Changelog:
- Redesigned subreddit search to show more information
- Comment replies now show up immediately after submission
- 4 New App Icons! Heart, Mono, Short, and Flag (Mono is my personal favorite!)
- Fixed read links not staying read between app sessions
- Renamed ‘Activity’ tab to Inbox, to make clearer for new users
- Support for GIFs in comments! This is very new feature added to reddit. I’m not a huge fan it personally, but I think itsup to Reddit subreddit admins to enable/disable this

Thank you everyone for beta testing the app, I look forward to further testing in the future! Most of the discussion should be taking place in the main thread over on r/Apple.
From here on out I’ll keep the same schedule as I did in beta; new update every two weeks. I haven’t decided how often the App Store will get updated but it will probably vary based on the each update’s content.
The update did include some bug fixes and cha
[Release] Comet pre-alpha 3: If it's not Comet, it's not Comet
blog.cometreddit.com/if-its-not-comet/Implemented a lot of feature requests this week! My favorites so far are large link previews and colored comments. Also, you can now opt-out of anonymous crash reporting.

Change-log:
- Large link previews - Reddit only recently (Last year or so) started providing these nice previews for links, so older content probably won’t support it to and Comet will default to the old style
- Large crosspost previews - Nice and large previews that support gifs/and images
First off I want to thank everyone for the great response to Comet! I plan to continue to take feedback and improve on Comet. As the first update since the launch 6 days ago I focused mainly on adjusting the app in accordance to the feedback.
Among the many new features of this update, I have also rewritten Comet's privacy policy too more explicitly define that Comet does not collect or sell any data that could personally identify you. A link to the policy can be found in Comet's App Settings or here.
Depending on how this update goes over in Testflight I'll push it to the AppStore late this week/early next week. Next update will more than likely b
Apollo doesn’t load and most reddit clients are not working, but comet is still working absolutely fine! I’m using it right now to type this post. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow if it is temporary or permanent.
This app was esthetically beautiful, and a joy to use. Really love the browsing experience on this little underrated app.
Thanks for everything.
I took a lot of requests these last couple weeks so no big ticket items. I did get time to implement reorder-able favorites though, a lot of people have asked for this and so here it is with (hopefully) no caveats. Also a couple new app icons to take a look at.

- The first 2 favorites will now be used as 3D Touch Quick Actions for the home screen

It would be a real shame to let this app die and it just needs to be maintained and completed; if that's the case, I'd like to petition to join the dev team or simply take it over if allowed.
Dev team, what can be done from here? I want to get involved and don't want to lose my favorite Reddit app. Let's make some magic.
