This subreddit is a safe space for those with disorganized attachment.

We encourage discussions that center on the lived experiences of those with disorganized attachment (FA). Posts or comments from individuals without disorganized attachment that detract from this space, objectify, or trivialize FA experiences will be locked. This is not a place for diagnosing others, offering external perspectives, or reducing individuals with FA to harmful stereotypes or oversimplifications. Please respect the focus of this community and help us maintain a supportive environment for FAs. If something doesn’t feel safe, use the report feature under our new rule, and the mod team will address it.

Please remember that disorganized attachment should be referred to as FA and DA should be used to refer to Dismissive avoidant.

Some signs you may have the disorganized attachment style

The Forgotten Attachment Style: Disorganized Attachment

Psychology Today provides an excellent summary of what disorganized attachment is and how it differs from someone who works through attachment styles in general (such as moving from an avoidant style to a secure attachment). Disorganized attachment is rare and you may not believe you are "disorganized" because of stronger behaviors. If you have a therapist or counselor and you feel you identify with it, discuss this with them!
