I underestimated just how much of a difference it makes for immersion. It seriously changes the entire game for me.
Still have some tweaks to do, but I am going to watch the elegant universe in VR while exploring the universe!
Also found my first earth like in the game today in a 5 star system. Incredible experience!
Also, anyone have any good setup for the galaxy map? Super uncomfortable to navigate with hotas in 3D
I made the switch from 2D/KBM early in my E:D career, and I contend that playing this game in pancake mode vs. VR simply isn't the same thing. 2D commanders are playing a game, VR commanders are flying a space ship.
None of my friends got hooked on Elite like I did, and none of them made the leap to VR. So, as the title says, looking to fly with other commanders who only play in VR.

Greetings, fellow VR CMDR's...
A very quick & dirty review of Update 7 for VR players, based completely on my experience and settings. As with all things, YMMV.
Specs: 10700K @ 4.8GHz, 32MB Memory, SSD's, 2080ti (mild overclock) Headset: Samsung Odyssey+, Re-projection force-on in Steam (max 45 FPS)
Software: fpsVR
Game Graphics settings:
Odyssey: VR Ultra preset gave the best overall performance out of all the presets and better than any tweaking to the settings I performed, tinkering with Fidelity CAS or FSR made little difference in performance or visual clarity.
Horizons: I followed CMDR Exigious' recommended settings, and I use EDProfiler to switch between Ody
April update major performance regressions. VR virtually unplayable now :(
issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/730I had to set Left Control, Left Alt, Spacebar mode manually in general settings for on-foot but once I did I had a thoroughly pleasant time wandering the surface in real 3D but third person. HOTAS control defaults were also enough.
If you just want to explore and see the sights on foot this is a nice thing for now. I thought anyway.
