First published in 1977, Heavy Metal, the Premier Illustrated Fantasy Magazine, explores fantastic and surrealistic worlds, past present and future. Illustrators from around the world take you to places you never dreamed existed.

~~Heavy Metal magazine is now probably defunct.~~ This subreddit stays open as an archive, but also to allow conversation about an important historical magazine that was managed into the ground.

As of October 2024 HMM is possibly un-defunct. Time, as always, will show.
