The way it works is simple. Each month we will have 3 different categories. Speculative fiction, cozy fiction, and non-fiction. Post your book and / or vote for books you think are cool. The highest vote-getter in each category will be that genre's book of the month. When the book is chosen, a thread will open for the entire month for each reader to discuss. Since the authors have to submit their own works, authors can (and should) participate in the discussion too. At the end of the month, readers post reviews of the works to their favorite website. The main concept is to have fun in a group-read setting where the author participates too, and to help the indie authors gain exposure.

We also have a recommendation project underway currently. The idea is simple. We want to help readers discover indie books by associating them with well-known works. You can check out this thread which explains how that works.
