#Rules

##Be Respectful of Our Differences

Do not:

• proselytize - attempt to persuade others to convert to a religion or belief system.

• evangelize - promote or preach about a religion, with the purpose of conversion.

• gatekeep - arbitrarily restrict who has rights to an open community or identity. There is no "correct" way to be a "true" Pagan.

• advocate for cultural appropriation - support the idea that anyone, uninvited, can publicly claim practices and / or the identity of a closed religion or culture.

##Be Civil

Incivility is defined in this subreddit as:

• abusive language - remarks intended to be insulting, mocking, belittling, dismissive, or threatening,

• pushing personal boundaries - insisting on debate, aggressively / intrusively critiquing or challenging beliefs,

• trolling - intentionally instigating conflict, and

• calling for violence.

Practice respect.

##No Folkish or Far-right Rhetoric, Content, or Associations

We do not tolerate support or promotion of folkish or far-right ideologies, talking points, content, apologia, sympathies, or organizations.

This includes any exclusionary or supremacist views, arguments in favor of the restriction of personal autonomy, and recruitment tactics.

Should your profile reveal that you submit or support language or content in violation of this rule, you may be permanently banned.

##Do Not Put Yourself or Others at Risk of Harm

Comments or posts which contain the following may be removed:

• requests, offers, or themes of serious medical / mental health advice,

• information that incites brigading,

• your own or another user's personally identifiable information,

• or any other harmful content.

Enforcement of this rule is ultimately up to moderator discretion.

Elaboration on specific policies.

##No Off-topic Posts

Posts not about nontheistic Paganism or directly related subjects will be removed.

Pagan music, personal ads, and social connections should instead be posted to the appropriate /r/paganism Network subreddit.

Posts focused on witchcraft, new age / esoteric practices, or other non-Pagan subjects are considered off-topic.

##Start a Conversation

When submitting content (memes excluded) or requesting opinions, please leave a comment with some details about your post:

• share your thoughts or ideas about the content,

• give information that helps others understand the content,

• and / or explain how the content relates to your practice.

⚠ Video submissions and sizable text submissions are also required to have a brief summary.

Low effort posts - posts that do not promote discussion - are subject to removal.

##Reposting Guidelines

Please use the subreddit search function or Google to find out if what you're submitting has already been posted.

• Topics that have been submitted for discussion within the last ~6 months (or moderator discretion) without a significant update are subject to removal.

• Content that has previously been posted without substantial new context is subject to removal.

##No Self-promotion, Surveys, or Other Advertisements

If your primary purpose for submitting to this subreddit is to gain something (views, subscribers, profit) and / or these types of submissions are your only form of interaction with this community, then your post will likely be removed.

However, certain types of surveys or self-promotional posts are permitted with approval. Please see /r/paganism's self-promotion guide for more information on what content is eligible for approval.

##Submit Moderation Concerns by Modmail

Moderation concerns, which are:

• disagreements with enforcement of rules,

• disagreements with post removals,

• or any other type of moderation problem or question,

should be brought to the attention of the moderators via Modmail.
