Rhetoric at the Edge of Reality: Arguments for and against the Supernatural

r/RimofReality

This community serves two purposes: first, to provide a public forum for arguments both in favor of and against all things "supernatural" or "paranormal," and second, to lead readers to read "Rhetoric at the Edge of Reality," a weekly blog written by a Ph.D with an emphasis in Rhetoric that looks at this topic from an academic (and often amusing)

A Ph.D rhetorical theorist takes a weekly look at the relationship between superstition, politics, and cultural norms in explaining how our sense of reality gets created. Readers interested in the "Supernatural" and the "Paranormal" can frequently find discussion here of the issues that influence credibility and belief. Both people who believe in the "supernatural" and those who are entirely skeptical are passionate about their worldviews. This is a space where people can discuss what makes ideas worth believing. When speaking of the weird, what counts as evidence? Who gets to say what makes people an authority? Feel free to post questions and comments regarding the rhetoric of belief.
