This is a space to discuss addiction and recovery from a secular point of view. Secular simply means not religious. Addiction treatment in America is dominated by the 12 Step/Minnesota Model, which is a religious approach. While this approach has helped many people, it also excludes and even harms many others. Instead of religion, philosophy and science provide a better framework for discussing recovery. Philosophy excludes no one, harms no one, and is fully compatible with science.
