I get the sociological aspects between random (to us) / curated feeds but I’m so sick of social media apps doing this by default now
My feed is just garbage of reactionary right wing politicians and media outlets, Elon Musk for some reason (I muted him), and anti-LGBT shit. None of whom I follow, I just actively haven;t blocked yet.
Threads, all you gotta do is get your algo right and it'll surpass Twitter in popularity. Twitter is a garbage fire of the worst people on the internet.
I’m rooting for them to succeed but I feel like people are going to try it out and then get turned off like I am by the apparent inability to just see posts from people you follow (and to see things chronologically). I know they say they’re working on it but don’t know if people will come back. Seems like a massive miscalculation to bombard people with loads of algorithmic crap.
The Instagram Threads launch countdown jumped forward and is now targeting 7PM ET
theverge.com/2023/7/5/23784873/instagram-thre...Can't imagine it overtakes twitter when it lacks the one of the biggest features of twitter. I understand it's a meta product, so I really don't have much hope they'll introduce it. When breaking news or any major sports game happens you can sure bet people will hop over to twitter. In its current state it feels more like an insta replacement.
Hello all. I removed the threads badge from my Instagram profile by mistake. I want to add it back. How do I do that? I have been trying to do that for a while now but not being able to figure this out.
