What is "hex"?:

Hex or "crushed trap", as well as the related genre of surge, is a style of music originating in around 2018, and further cementing itself in 2019 and 2020. It has roots in nightcore, vaporwave, trap music, as well as other facets of hip-hop including cloud rap, chopped and screwed, tread, and based rap. Hex music was mostly popularized by cargoboym (known at the time as tomoe_theundying)'s mix rare RCB hexD.mp3, which consisted of hexd/crushed versions of rare songs by surge/tread group Reptilian Club Boyz. Since then we have seen many other great hex-focused artists with unique styles such as YABUJIN, Fax Gang, $PIRIT GURLZ, and AERO GROS M.
