(adapted from my recent post on RR reddit)

I would suggest that in traditional publishing a rating or review is aimed at readers as the book is in its final form and nothing can be done to improve it. A webnovel, however, is more of a conversation between readers and writers; a revolutionary approach that is somewhat collaborative.

If a reader points out a grammatical error, I will fix it. If they note that there is a plotting issue, I consider the point they are making and rewrite and repost the improved chapter. When a reviewer notes something in the book that could be improved, I take a close look at what they say and consider changes.

Hi all! So, genres are live. We have genre pages sorted by popularity. They are a bit bare-bones at the moment, just a title and a list of books. I'd really like these to turn into little community hubs with owners and moderators.

Question for the community, how would people like these to be? What sorts of customisations would people like? What would make these really nice spaces for folks to use?

I would like to suggest that although major contests are worthwhile and have a place in the overall system of things, there might be a different entry point for writers to test an idea and their skills. A “Sandbox” where they work on their craft, receive feedback and improve their writing before jumping into the deep end with those who already have enough experience to warrant participation in a more intense, short term, contest setting.

As you build out your programs I would put in a request for a forum accessible only to the authors on your site. It would be used as a community to assist and encourage (not for promo). I know you have your Immersive Ink discord, but I find the discords can be a significant time investment that I don't have at present. An author forum could be a more controlled way for me to interact with your growing list of authors. Thanks.

On other similar sub reddits I have wondered if, from the outset, there should have been a separate one for promo and another for discussion. As authors we love to promo our work but that can quickly take over and crowd out community interactions. With this fresh start, perhaps a better solution might be implimented up front to better honor the distinctives of the new site. Just a thought.
