Am I understanding Routera’s new pricing correctly?

Before GPT-6 launched, Routera was charging roughly:
GPT-5.6 Luna: 0.04×
GPT-5.6 Sol: 1×

OpenAI has now released GPT-6 Sol/Luna and explicitly says the API pricing is 50% lower than GPT-5.6 promotional pricing, while also giving higher usage limits.
So you’d expect Routera’s credit usage to go DOWN as well, or at least stay around the same.

Instead:
GPT-6 Luna: 0.05×
GPT-6 Sol: 1.15×

So despite the underlying tokens apparently costing Routera around half as much, they’re charging users MORE credits than they charged for the previous generation.
And it gets stranger because they also increased the old

I wanna know what people are actually using, not just what benchmarks say

If you had an LLM router with open-source models, which ones would you want available first?

Stuff like:

- Qwen

- Llama

- DeepSeek

- Kimi

- GLM

- Mistral

Also interested in the opposite:

What models look good on paper but you would not actually use in production / side projects?

Trying to understand what people would actually call through an API, not what gets hyped on Twitter for 2 days

Not sure if this would be possible, but I have feature request for subscription overage pricing. This would be similar to what portal.neuralwatt.com does. Effectively when you buy a subscription you also get a discounted overage rate in line with subscription pricing.

So for example if I bought the ChatGPT subscription if I could get overage credits at a reduced rate of $1.80/10M instead of the $3 standard price.

I think the main value props for me with Routera are that I can use the credit whenever I want for the month (not metered out), and also I have more security/control over my usage. Adding the additional security of overage if I needed at a fair price would lead to me to probably

Quick honest story about how we fucked up.

Our website runs on Vercel, while our API backend runs elsewhere. To keep everything under the same domain, we routed API requests through a Vercel external rewrite.

Everything looked fine until somebody used a model that took more than two minutes to respond.

We initially thought our OpenAI-to-Anthropic translation was broken. We spent time inspecting payloads, response formats, streaming events, model routing, and basically every complicated part of the system.

Turns out Vercel was just sitting in the middle with a stopwatch.

At exactly 120 seconds it would decide the model had thought enough and kill the request.

The funniest part is that t

Quick update on model pricing and token usage.

We removed the inaccurate $/M prices from the models page. Routera now shows the actual credit multiplier that we charge.

Normal usage is 1x, cached input is still counted at only 10% before the model multiplier is applied.

The current discounted models are:

- GPT 5.6 Luna: 0.25x

- Grok 4.5: 0.4x

- GPT 5.6 Terra: 0.5x

- Claude Sonnet 4.6: 0.5x

This means 10M Routera tokens can give you up to 40M tokens of Luna usage, 25M of Grok usage, or 20M of Terra/Sonnet usage, depending on cache and context usage.

Grok 4.5 is no longer completely free after the weekend promotion, but everybody received Grok credits. Accounts without a plan or w
