Techno-thrillers are a sub-genre of science fiction. Their particularity is that they focus on technology: they often include very in-depth description of the technical side of the story. The fathers of this genre are considered to be Tom Clancy and Michael Crichton: their novels "The Hunt for Red October" and "The Andromeda Strain" set the basis for this genre.

Major subject categories include war (e.g. Larry Bond, Harold Coyle), espionage (e.g. Robert Ludlum, Tom Clancy), and disaster (e.g. Michael Crichton). Generally, techno-thrillers set in the near future with technology that is considered cutting-edge from our contemporary setting.

In this subreddit you are free to discuss any techno-thriller related subjects, suggest and give your opinions about books and authors.
