The Long Dark is a first-person post-disaster survival simulation, set in the Northern Wilderness. The game is developed by Hinterland Studio, a team of ex-triple A developers who've worked on major franchises including Mass Effect, Saints Row, Company of Heroes, Red Faction, Far Cry, Knights of the Old Republic, God of War, and Dragon Age. The Long Dark emphasizes thoughtful, challenging survival gameplay that has players monitoring calories, thirst, fatigue, core temperature, and a host of other factors as they try to navigate a treacherous frozen wilderness. The game has already received accolades for its art style and challenging gameplay that refuses to "hold the player's hand".
