Chat with us (42 writers in IRC)

#WriterChat is:

A community focused on chatting, posting interesting things, sharing information, and helping our fellow writers succeed. A community focused on community.
A place where knowledgeable writers gather together to support one another, where emerging writers learn and get answers about writing, and where everyone can gain assistance from conception to completion.
WritERChat, not WritINGChat. This is a very important distinction: while writing discussions are encouraged and held to a higher priority, this is a place for writers to talk about anything and everything.

#Rules:

Rule 1: Don't be an asshole
Rule 2: Don't make us add more rules

Expanded explanation of rules

#Quick Guidelines

######Asking for Help

Feel free to make a post asking for help with your writing, but remember that many people here have their own works, may not be interested in taking on someone else's project, and are not obliged to do your work for you.

Guidelines for a Critique Request
Guidelines for finding a Partner
Guidelines for finding a Beta-reader
If you ask for help writing your work outside of the 3 above methods (such as writing your work for you), expect your post to be ignored or removed. This does not mean you shouldn't ask for help with certain topics.

######Set your own flair

Feel free to set your flair to anything appropriate, but we ask that if you are a member of the IRC or Discord that you include your nick as part of your flair.

Example of the format we suggest:

IRC Nickname | Whatever you want

######Backup your writing

For your own sake, remember to back up anything pertaining to your writing, and do so often. Loss of information can happen at any moment. Better safe than sorry.

We recommend Google Drive and Dropbox for free online storage.
