During the development of AERONIX Core, I realized I wasn’t completely happy with the original hose connection.

It worked, but every time I needed to move the unit, open it up, or change something during testing, having the hose permanently attached was simply inconvenient.

So… back to Fusion 360.

I redesigned the connection as a simple two-piece system: one part stays on AERONIX, while the hose and its adapter can be removed separately.

Another goal was to completely get rid of the usual **metal hose clamps** used to secure the flexible duct to the air inlet. They won’t be needed in the final design: I want the hose to be held directly by the adapter, keeping the connection clean, easy to install and, most importantly, easy to disconnect.

Nothing particularly sophisticated, and definitely still very homemade at this stage, but that’s basically what prototyping looks like.

**Design it → print it → use it → find what annoys you → redesign it.**

I’m also experimenting with sealing and tolerances, because I want the connection to be easy to remove without creating unnecessary air leaks.

The longer I work on this project, the more I realize that some of the most important improvements aren’t the impressive ones. They’re these small details you only discover once you actually start using the prototype.

Still testing. Still changing things.
And I’ll probably be printing another version tomorrow.

Small detail, but one of those things that makes a prototype actually usable
