Is everyone else seeing a massive traffic dip, or is it just me? (The Zero-Click Era is here)

Be honest, who else has been refreshing their Search Console and feeling that low-key panic lately? 😅

I’ve been digging into the data, and if your traffic is down, you probably aren't doing anything "wrong." The game just changed. Between SGE (Search Generative Experience) and AI Overviews, Google is answering questions directly on the SERP. No clicks. No visits. Just an AI summary.

We’re officially in the "Zero-Click" era. The Pivot: From "Getting Found" to "Getting Cited"

If Google is going to scrape our content to answer the user, the goal isn't to fight the Al, it’s to make sure you are the source it’s quoting.

Here’s the quick breakdown of how to pivot:

  1. Optimize for "Information Gains": Don't just regurgitate the same top 10 tips. Add unique data, personal anecdotes, or a controversial take. AI favors unique perspectives it can’t find elsewhere.

  2. Schema is non-negotiable: If you aren't using speakable schema or FAQ markup, you're invisible to the AI.

  3. The "First Million" Rule: Aim to answer the primary query in the first 100 words in a way that is "snippet-friendly" (clear, concise, objective). Is anyone else changing their KPI tracking because of this? Are we even counting "impressions" as wins anymore? Curious to hear what you guys are seeing.
