How detailed does a scope of work need to be for a remodel
Doing more full remodels lately and the scope of work is where I keep getting burned. Write something short like "demo kitchen, install new cabinets and counters, paint" and then halfway through the client acts like trim, debris haul off, and patching the wall behind the old fridge were all supposed to be included. Then it's a fight every time about whether it's a change order or not. The guys who do this clean, how granular are you getting? Listing every little thing room by room, or keeping it tight and spelling out what's NOT included? Ngl if I write a novel for every quote I'll never get them out the door, but keeping it loose is costing me real money.
