Bootstrapping in India is harder than raising. Agree or disagree?

💬 Discussion

Hot take: Raising a seed round in India is easier than building a profitable bootstrapped business here.

Hear me out.

When you raise, someone else believes in you enough to give you money. You have a runway. You have a story. You can hire, experiment, and figure it out.

When you bootstrap, every rupee you spend is yours. Every month you do not hit revenue is a month you are bleeding your own savings. There is no investor validation. No press release. No social proof. Just you and the market.

India's VC ecosystem has matured. There is more early stage capital available than ever before. But bootstrapping in a market where customers are price sensitive, payment cycles are long, and everyone wants a free trial? That is a different kind of hard.

The bootstrapped founders I respect most are the toughest builders I have met. Quietly profitable, no funding announcements, no press. Just building.
