Question about Altezza front grille

My grandfather has owned an Altezza for a while and I've noticed that his has a mesh front grille that says Altezza in the corner. All of the other Altezzas I see around town have a slat design instead of the mesh. Been trying to search up the differemce online but nothing meaningful turns up. So I thought maybe someone here might be able to enlighten me. Can't remember what year his is, think its either 2000 or 2001 and pretty sure its a 4 cylinder engine if that helps, I really don't know much about Altezzas so any help would be awesome thanks.
