Question to all

Hey everyone.

I have a very specific question to ask and if you have any info on it, I'd be grateful if you provide.

A little background info:

My maternal grandparents are refugees from Armenia (also called Western Azerbaijan, Vedi and current day Artashat). They were forced to flee during the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis in 1948-1953 (that's an approximate date). They had no documents with them or anything so even their dates of birth were written approximately on their passports.

My grandmother had very special tattoos on her forehead, which was a dot and some dots on her hands. Apparently her mother, grandmother and back, all had those tattoos. Even their relatives (also refugees from Armenia) living in Azerbaijan also had it (and it only occured in females).

*Upon some research I realized that Armenian genocide survivors had those types of tattoos.

I started questioning it these days. So I wondered what those tattoos might mean or if there's anybody knowing history behind it, whether it's tribal, which I doubt, or something else.

They might end up being non-Azerbaijanis as well lol.

Anyways.

Thanks beforehand.
