19yo Spanish student looking for summer work in Netherlands
Hi everyone,
I’m a 19-year-old from Spain (EU citizen) looking to move to the Netherlands for 2 months this summer (July and August). My main goals are to experience living and working abroad, meet new people, explore the country, and ideally head back home with some savings.
I’m completely open to any kind of work and as an EU citizen, getting registered for a short stay shouldn't be an issue. I’m fully available for full-time or part-time work throughout July and August. While my background is back in Spain is in healthcare, I speak advanced English alongside native Spanish and Catalan, but no Dutch yet. Because of this language barrier and the short timeframe, I’m looking for English-friendly seasonal roles—whether it’s in logistics/warehouses, hospitality, retail, or agriculture.
Given this profile, I’d love some realistic feedback. Are employment agencies (Uitzendbureaus) a good path for just a 2-month stay, and are there specific ones that offer jobs with worker accommodation included? Also, considering the high cost of living and the housing shortage, is it realistic to expect to save some money if I live frugally, and which regions outside the main crowded cities should I focus on?
I’m highly motivated and ready to work hard, so any tips on finding a job, accommodation, or general advice for a 19-year-old trying this out would be amazing. Thanks so much!
