Gloves for Cathedral + KE in October?

I’m doing Katahdin in early October, going up Cathedral, down KE and Dudley (we have reservations at Chimney Pond).

I’ve never done this much scrambling, and I feel like gloves are advisable. I like the idea of fingerless (like mountain bike gloves) for dexterity, but given the season im wondering if I should have something a little warmer, or at least with fingers.

Thoughts?
