How much of Yaguchi's life does the manga span?

I just watched the anime, planning on reading the manga from chapter 1. I heard the manga zpans Yaguchi's life from highschool to college to him being a real proffesional artist. Is this true cuz that is pretty cool. How much time exactly passes from ch1 to where the manga is rn?
