Clearinghouse advice

Would greatly appreciate any advice on this topic,

I’m 26m & have had my CDL since 21. (Class A, no restrictions)

I drove for a short haul company in Idaho for half a year or so & got great experience backing into 10+ docks daily, driving in snow, & using pallet jacks.

Moved home to CA & made the mistake of dabbling around with weed shortly. Gave it a month or so but ended up failing a pre-employment for Sysco. (Tested myself prior but must have been dehydrated, or their test was more sensitive)

Either way, I got a clearinghouse violation. Not excusing that.
I’ve been grateful to get into the Utility planner world for the past few years (non-DOT) & have still been subject to pre/randoms. I haven’t smoked in years.

I’ve gotten the itch to drive again, but ultimately to get a hands-on position driving a bucket truck.

I understand the process of SAP & RTD testing…but my question is after that…Do I need to be in a safety sensitive position to start my year-long random plan? Can a third party administrator my randoms? When I pass my RTD, does surpassing 5 years clear up my ClearingHouse?

I don’t want to lose a relationship with my current employer, going to drive for an OTR company that’s gonna make me lease-to-buy. Is that the only option though?
