My bf abuses his cat subtly

Is this normal behaviour? I think my bf is abusive towards his cat.

It is only in the morning when the cat is meowing a lot.

He decides to sleep very late at night (4 AM) and so when the cat wants attention roughly around 7 AM, he’s bothered by it. And he literally grabs the cat and tries to scare it into shutting up. And I always have to interfere but instead he gets mad at me (he’s emotionally abusive)

Regardless, I told him that you can’t scare him into not obeying. I said to him that you signed up for this, you need to give him attention and feed him.

He gets mad and says things like “I’m not giving you food until you f**king shut up”

One time he even pinned the cat on the window.

Mind you this only happens at 7 am, the rest of the day he is completely and utterly in love with the cat, and constantly gives him attention.

What do I do?
