Items After Dark

With the new lunar ring item, I wondered how cool it would be if your items "powered up" at night or after you reach home. In those levels after 10, the game gets significantly harder, so an increase in character power would make reaching those high levels more enticing because you unlock exclusive abilities you can't get anywhere else and make some items relevant again.

The levels after 10 should still be challenging, however, so maybe not all items should be "powered up". Alternatively, the game could:

Enhance one or more player-chosen item(s) when home is reached

Enhance one player chosen item every 10 levels

Enhance a player chosen (or random) item at the shop in every level after 10

Enhance items in relation to the lunar ring (eg. all items if lunar ring is equipped, only items adjacent to lunar ring, only items to the left/right of lunar ring, etc.)

Enhancement Ideas: AA Batteries: Grants extra attacks, then automatically "Midas Wands" itself.

Solar Ring: Fuses with lunar ring if both are equipped, saving an item slot while giving both effects.

Lunar Ring: Fuses with solar ring if both are equipped, saving an item slot while giving both effects.

Fastball: Slowly adds temporary attacks while not attacking.

Nimble Feather: Adds another midair jump for 3 total (or lets you press jump to switch yellow platforms even if out of jumps or both).

Wooden Shield: Automatically repairs if broken similarly to pocket cloud. (Maybe an option to purchase a reinforcement to let it take 2 hits before breaking)

Pocket Cloud: Doesn't consume clouds while using star power.

Golden Apple: Gain some health when you gain an attack (maybe a whole, maybe a quarter).

Star Dust: Coins add 0.5 seconds to star power instead of 0.1 second.

Apple Seeds: Changes health bar to use thirds instead. (Apple fills one third, Cherries fill two thirds, Pumpkins fill four thirds, etc.)

Yellow Balloon: Doesn't have a time limit.

Lifesaver: Gives stars at the start of each level (maybe 10, maybe less).

Reusable Bag: First purchase of each item per shop is free.

Treasure Tracker: The end of level chest is always golden.

Mighty Shears: Can destroy lasers. (Maybe only works on end terminals)

Binoculars: Increases view distance further or has an indicator to tell you the distance to the end of the level.

Phoenix Candle: Fire blasts angle towards next enemy. (Or bursts travel farther, or both)

Antique Hourglass: Further slows or completely freezes non-projectile enemies (or slows projectiles).

Lucky Magnet: Increases coin collect radius further (maybe to cover the whole screen)

Blast Boots: Blasts collect coins and destroy spikes/lasers if mighty shears are equipped (or removes contact damage from jumping on enemies or both)

Trusty Pickaxe: All dirt blocks have coins.

Traveler's Map: Grants invincibility frames while rising on a lift pad.

Party Popper: All explosives are replaced (except for enemies).

Toy Rocket: Rocket homes on enemies.

Money Bag: Chance for enemies to drop rubies.

Bubble Barrier: Lasts until you next take damage. (Like the wooden shield)

Sparkling Sapphire: Chance for enemies to drop extra stars.

Mushroom Charm: Also treats the Jelly Bean and Rosey enemies as mushrooms.

Piggy Bank: Permanent ruby staff (maybe stacking with ruby staff purchases).

But I'm just some player who's never even reached level 20, so what do the rest of you think? Would it be cool or enticing? Should we just leave it as is and tell people to get good? This game is such a gem and I think adding something like this would make it just that much better.
