Rocky Patel Royale Corona
Rocky Patel Royale Corona
This cigar had the aroma of wet tobacco with sweet notes in the background. The first third had a good draw with barnyard flavors and a mild black pepper flavor. It had a very smooth retrohale.
The second third was nutty and creamy with lemon zest and a little more pepper. The burn was pretty uneven but it ended up fixing itself. The retrohale was getting bolder with a real leathery essence to it.
After the first two thirds had some definite flavor changes, the final third failed to do so. There was not much of a buildup in body, strength or flavor and there was no real flavor change from the second third. Although it ended on a slightly lackluster note it pretty much gave me what I was looking for. I pretty much knew what to expect when I lit up a cigar with the name “Rocky Patel” on it but I have to admit the first and second third seemed to have better flavors than most of the Rockys I’ve smoked.
Overall it would’ve been nice not to have a wonky burn but it wasn’t a big issue. I simply wish the end had been anything but underwhelming.
