Can Conservatives date interracially?

I started talking to my now boyfriend (21 M) almost a year ago ( August) . He asked me to be his girlfriend in October (as suggested by his older, mature friend). At this point he already knew that we were not going to be serious partners (but I didn’t because I met his family and friends and went often to their home so I thought he was thinking long term).

He was going to be studying abroad and graduating early to move, so he told me he didn’t want to be in a relationship ( late October). He also told me he wasn’t sure if I was the one because he was so young. So a week before the study abroad semester I broke up with him and he was convinced that he loves me- so he asked me to stay and I did.

I don’t know anymore if he loves me or just likes the fact that I’m “good”. I’m good at school, I stay fit, I get along with his family etc. I find that he doesn’t text me often when he’s with other people. He also doesn’t take pictures of us together, or have me on his social media or phone Lock Screen. ( I have his phone password so I know he’s not cheating.)

He was in a 3 year long relationship when he was young. This girl was just like him (country, white) and I’m Asian and from the city. I found pictures of them on his laptop and voice messages ( which he swears he didn’t know was there.) He also oddly resents her for cheating on him.

Recently he mentioned that he was wants his kids to look like him ( I’m sure he meant white) and it would bother him if they looked like me. He’s convinced they will look Italian ( skin dark like mine but European features).

He is sweet, and cute on occasion. He also took me to a nice vacation. He meets me everyday after work. He tells me he wants to marry me.

Does he like me? Or am I a placeholder?
