Blue shield wall that interrupts?

I've only started playing within the last month, and I've seen this on a couple of occasions now.

Where does the blue shield wall that will interrupt unstable attacks come from?

My guess it's maybe a lantern ability, but I dont think it's any of the lanterns currently available. Is this something that you can no longer get in-game?
