The Court Finally Approved the $26.75M Settlement Between StoneCo and Its Investors over Misleading Credit-Business Claims
Hey guys, if you missed it, the court has finally approved the $26.75 million settlement between StoneCo ($STNE) and its investors over issues the company faced a few years back during its expansion into Brazil’s credit business.
Back in 2021, StoneCo was accused of misleading investors about the risks, delinquency rates, and profitability of its new credit product. The company attributed rising defaults to COVID-19 and regulatory changes, but investors later alleged the real cause was loosened credit standards and internal issues within the lending operation.
After this information came out, $STNE dropped sharply, and investors filed a lawsuit claiming they were misled about StoneCo’s financial health and the stability of its credit portfolio.
The good news is that the company recently agreed to settle $26.75M with investors — and the court has now officially approved the settlement. So, if you invested in $STNE during that time, you can check the details and file your claim before February 17, 2026.
Anyway, has anyone here invested in $STNE at that time? How much were your losses, if so?
