Forza’s New 4K 1100FPS Global Shutter Sensor Could Change What Mirrorless Cine Cameras Can Do

Sensors

Forza Silicon — the same company behind the sensor in the Big Sky camera — just unveiled a high-speed CMOS sensor with a rare combo:

  • 4K UHD @ 1100FPS (12-bit)
  • Global Shutter with just 3e⁻ read noise
  • 5µm pixel pitch, 68dB dynamic range
  • 16 output ports pushing 119 Gbps
  • Designed for machine vision, but clearly brushing up against cinema territory

This one’s not for smartphones or DSLRs — but it might just power the next compact global shutter cinema rig. Thought it was worth sharing with the community. Curious what you think — cinematic potential or strictly industrial tech?
