My WhatsApp was permanently banned for almost 3 months. Here's how I got it back
A few months ago, I woke up to something I didn’t expect at all.
“This account can no longer use WhatsApp”
At first, I thought it was temporary. Maybe some glitch or report. I tried restarting, reinstalling, waiting. Nothing worked.
I contacted WhatsApp support multiple times. Sent mails. Explained everything in detail, that I used it mainly for work, that I was into digital marketing, that I hadn’t done anything wrong knowingly. The response? Just the same auto-generated line.
People online said to wait. That sometimes, accounts get unbanned automatically after 60 days. So I waited. Not just days or weeks but for months. Still nothing.
It felt strange how helpless it can feel when something as basic as a phone number is suddenly taken away. Especially when it’s tied to your work. Clients, leads, contacts, everything was on WhatsApp.
I started using a spare number in the meantime, but it just wasn’t the same. Half of my contacts didn’t know who I was. Important messages were lost. Conversations were gone. And mentally, it was frustrating, because there was no real explanation or way to fix it.
Eventually, after trying everything, I came across someone who offered help. They mentioned a way to get it unbanned. I wasn’t fully convinced, but by then, I had nothing more to lose. So I tried.
And to my surprise, it worked. My old number was back. It felt unreal.
After that, I took a step back and changed how I was using WhatsApp for marketing. I switched tools. I started being more careful with limits, delivery pace, all of it. It’s been months now, not even a temporary ban since. And everything’s running smooth.
I know how frustrating it is when your number is banned and no one tells you why. If you’re in the same place, stuck, confused, or just tired of emailing support with no result, I get it. I’ve been there. You’re not alone. I’ve learned a lot from this experience and if you ever want to talk about it or need any clarity, my inbox is open.
