I Will Not Stay Where I Am Not Respected

I can love deeply. I can give endlessly. I can stand beside someone through storms, through silence, through everything. But there is one thing I cannot do. I cannot stay where I am not respected. I cannot be with someone who hears me but does not listen. Who sees me but does not value me. Who knows my feelings but treats them like they are optional. I cannot be with someone who cannot speak his own truth. Who hides his thoughts, his likes, his dislikes, and expects love to grow in silence. Love needs honesty. Not guessing games. And I have seen something in this world that breaks me. People who ignore their partner, their own children, just to please others who do not even respect them. They call it responsibility. But I see the line. And it is thin. Very thin. Between responsibility and disrespect. Because love should never cost your dignity. Your voice. Your home. I respect those who stand up. Not in anger. Not in ego. But in truth. Who say, “This is my family. This is my partner. And they deserve respect.” Because what is love if you cannot protect it? If your parents or anyone keeps hurting your partner, your children, your peace… and you stay silent, then what are you protecting? Tradition? Or fear? If I ever stand in that place, I know what I will choose. Not because I don’t love them. Not because I don’t respect them. But because I respect myself and the life I am building. Boundaries are not betrayal. They are protection. And I will always choose a love that stands, a love that speaks, a love that protects. Because I cannot, and I will not, stay where I am not seen.
