Hero summons

A friend of mine started playing the same time i did 3iish weeks ago on our server, sword immortal comes out for us 3 days or so. They somehow have gotten 7k more hero summon points than me in this time! Their hero recruitment level is about to hit 7 while im still stuck at 5. Am I missing some absurd source of Recruit tickets? Friend keeps telling me they aren't spending, but ive spent quite a bit and it feels weird to still be so far behind
