Franchise or Startup: What Are Millennials Really Betting On Today?
I’ve been working in franchising for years, and honestly, I’m seeing millennials go both ways.
Some are choosing startups because they want full control, creativity, and the chance to build something from scratch. They’re okay with higher risk if it means bigger upside and freedom.
Others are leaning into franchising because they want a proven system, brand recognition, and structured support. Especially for those transitioning from a side hustle or corporate job, the lower learning curve feels more practical.
From what I see, it’s less about age and more about personality and risk tolerance. Do you want to build the system, or plug into one that already works?
Curious what you’d personally choose and why.
