Humming noise coming from engine/front tires area
My 2014 Ford Fusion hybrid is currently at 145k miles. A few months back I slid into a curb at about 7-10mph. Went to one shop & they told me the wheel was bent, deal on tire was messed up, bearing needed to be replaced & maybe one more thing. Went to another place and they told me I just needed to replace the bearing. I went w the second option & when I got the car back everything was back to normal. It’s been about 8k miles since then & last night I was driving when all of a sudden a somewhat loud humming noise started. Google searched the symptoms and saw a few people that mentioned bearing related issues. Wondering if maybe the second shop was wrong and more than just the bearing needed replacing and because it wasn’t I’ve started to develop another issue in that area. However I also saw people mentioning transmission issues related to the humming noise as well. When I’m at very low speeds(15 or less) there is no humming. Anything above that and it starts. Doesn’t matter whether I’m accelerating, coasting or slowing down, the humming is still there if I’m above 15. The noise seems to get more pronounced at higher speeds(above 50 or so). I almost wanna say it feels like maybe I’m getting some drag, something causing more friction making the car work harder to keep speed but I might be imagining that one or just overthinking it. Anyway, if someone has any experience with this feedback would be much appreciated.
