Something shifted today in the gym.
Earlier I used to avoid. If someone was sitting on a machine doing nothing I would quietly move somewhere else and find another exercise.
Today something was different.
Without hate. Without hesitation. Without guilt — I asked people to move. Multiple times.
Not aggressively. Just — please move. And they did.
My goal simply mattered more than the fear of asking.
What shifted today wasn't exactly confidence. It was a decision I didn't have to argue myself into: My goals are allowed to take up space. That’s it.
And the reason there was no guilt afterward is that no part of me thought I'd done something wrong. That's the part that surprised me—how completely clean it felt.
I'm realizing the gym was just the easy version. This same pattern runs everywhere in my life. It's the work I avoid putting out, the things I want but don't reach for, the spaces I stand at the edge of instead of walking into. It's all the same move. All the same old belief that the good stuff is for other people.
The old me would have had a whole conversation in his head before saying a single word. Today, there was no conversation. Just the ask.
It’s a small thing. But I'm still in the middle of it, and today I got one clean rep at believing my own goals have weight. I know what changed.
